Best Practices in Destination Management
(second edition)
All 150 questions of the DMCP exam are based solely on the book Best Practices in Destination Management (Second Edition). The book can be purchased as a hardback, eBook, or a combination at a reduced price. The DMCP exam follows the DMC Competencies - the core skills, expertise, and knowledge a DMC professional should possess. Visit the ADMEI Bookstore to purchase.
Candidates will have 3 hours to complete the 150-question, multiple-choice DMCP exam. An extra hour is given if English is not the first language (ESL).
DMCP Exam Delivery Options
There are two ways to take the DMCP exam:
Computer-based exam periods are held four times annually in the spring, summer, fall, and winter. During the month-long period, exam registrants can schedule their exam to fit their schedule and their location. Computer-based Exams can be taken at:
- a global testing center near the candidate's location using the testing center's computer, or
- on the candidate's laptop computer - virtually proctored - from their home or office location (this option is less reliable and not recommended)
A DMCP paper exam is offered in conjunction with the ADMEI Annual Conference. It is typically scheduled for the morning of the first day of the conference prior to any official activities.
DMCP Study Session
ADMEI conducts an optional Study Session prior to each exam. The format of the Study Session is dependent on the type of exam you choose:
- A webinar Study Session is held just prior to the opening of each computer-based exam delivery period.
- An in-person Study Session is held the afternoon before the paper exam.
In either case, Study Session participants will work through some practice questions during this educational session.
