Frequently Asked Questions

What programs or events qualify to be entered for an award? *Expand*

All programs must have occurred between the dates specified on the Awards home page and take place in the submitting DMC’s local destination. Programs where the DMC traveled with its client are not eligible for an ADMEI Award unless it collaborated with a local DMC member in the program's destination.

Can I submit a program in more than one category? *Expand*

Absolutely! The awards platform makes it very easy to copy a submission to use in a separate category.

Who is eligible to submit an entry for an award? *Expand*

ADMEI Company Members in good standing are eligible to submit for ADMEI Awards. The DMC must have played an integral role in the development of the event, program, or activity being submitted; and the event must have taken place in the DMC’s destination.

Who can I nominate for a Recognition Award? *Expand*

You may nominate another Destination Management professional or yourself for the ADMEI Volunteer of the Year, Carol Norfleet Destination Management Rising Star, Destination Management Professional of the Year, and Hall of Fame | Lifetime Achievement awards.

Is a letter required from the client for the Achievement Award submission? *Expand*

No. To activate the submission button, DMCs must affirm the following:

  • By submission of this application, we agree, represent, and warrant that we have permission and authorization to disclose the information and images attached to this application for use by ADMEI in any further publication or utilization of the information and images, including but not limited to parties’ names, trademarks or service marks and all other intellectual property in any advertising, publication, or news release. We agree that we have the prior written consent of the client and others in support of this application and the representations and warranties contained in it. We shall indemnify, hold harmless, and defend ADMEI, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, demands, and reckonings that may arise from any app or omission on ADMEI's utilization, publication, and distribution of the information and images contained in the application.

Is a budget required for all entries? *Expand*

No, the event budget is only required for the Best Event categories (the final amounts the client was billed including all fees). Budgets are for the judges’ eyes only and will not be shared.

Can I submit for a program outside of my local destination? *Expand*

Programs where the DMC traveled with its client are not eligible for an ADMEI Award unless it collaborated with a local DMC member in the program's destination.

Will I be notified or refunded if I am disqualified? *Expand*

Entry fees are non-refundable.

Option: Purchase a DQ Check! Staff reviews your entry for disqualification items, provides a report to you, and you have 48 hours to correct and resubmit your entry.

When will I find out if I am a finalist? *Expand*

See the Awards home page for all award program dates. The judging panel reserves the right to withhold an award in the event no suitable entry is submitted.

What if I have an idea for a new award or a modification to an award? *Expand*
